The Three Things the “Experts” get wrong about Mild-Autism

Hello my name’s Peter Cole, but you can call me “Parent Power Pete”.
Why “Parent Power Pete” ? because I believe I can give you, the parent of a more-autistic child, more Power to make a bigger difference than you thought possible . (When I say “Parent” I also mean Grandparent or Carer of course). The strategies I am offering you here you won’t see anywhere else.
So now here are

The 3 Things the “Experts” get wrong about Mild-Autism

Incorrect notion Number (1) “Autistic people are quite different from the rest of us: Response: Nope – all humans are autistic ..! Does that come as a surprise? Yes we are all autistic, every one of us, it’s just a matter of degree. If you have Withdrawn to your Own World for rest and recharge, and of course you have, you are to that extent autistic. So there is not all that much difference between us, certainly less difference than is commonly spoken about.

Does that knowledge make any difference when it comes to this Real World Training? Yes -it means we first and foremost consider our children as children, and not some strange entities with incomprehensible needs. Our Childrens’ needs are the same as ours because they basically are the same as us.

So if we know that our Children are like us, and they do have social interaction needs like us, all we have to do is use that knowledge to encourage them out of their Own Worlds, using our Real World Training strategies and soon they will become more like us, and you can learn how to do that for your Child.

Incorrect notion Number (2) “You can’t Train autistics the same way, because they are all different”
Response: Nope, they all have the same basic trait, so you can apply the same Training to all.
The fundamental issue is that autistic people are more Withdrawn from the Real World than the rest of us. Our central aim with Real World Training is to steer them towards the Real World, away from Own World focus.
And because we are clearer on our aims, we get more targeted results.

And finally, the third incorrect notion:
Incorrect notion Number (3) “Autistic people are forever locked into Autistic behaviours: there is no “cure”. Response: Nope, your Child’s odd behaviours can diminish to nothing, or at least down to the point of not standing out” Of course we all have behavioural preferences, but your Child can become far more socially connected, less obsessive and so forth, to the point that in the end your Child will not stand out from the crowd as being fundamentally different. Come and have a look at the Real World Training site and see how you can give your Child better options in his or her future life.

In summary : mildly-autistic people
(1) Are not a separate species
(2) We can train them all with the same Techniques
(3) They can become basically “neurotypical”.

How can I say these things?

Because of the new advances in Neuro-science, showing us, like this best-seller of some millions of copies, how flexible our brains really are. Now that we have discovered how this flexibility works, we can more effectively train our brains to be more the way we want them to be.

And because of new scanning and other technology to actually observe how the brain works, and because of brilliant people like Henry Markram who operate such scanners and can formulate new theories based on those observations, we now have new ways of looking at behaviours like mild autism, and we have new directions in which to go.

But I think I’d better first answer some questions you’re probably asking yourself right now:
Number one Who am I ?,
Number two What would I know?
and Number three what’s that funny accent?

Well number 1, I’m the parent of a young chap who is becoming more “neurotypical” as they say, every day, for example he no way qualifies for school support any more, Number (2) What would I know?

Number 2: I’ve spent a decade now immersed in mild autism:
Over the past 10 years I have read all the popular books, and been immersed in the technical literature

Importantly I have been involved in mild-autism:
special schools
speech therapy
play therapy groups
sports groups
and other such institutions

Over that time I have carefully observed a range of mildly-autistic kids and their behaviours, not just my own boy, and
Where others see differences, I see a core similarity with all of them: Withdrawal.!
The reducing of which, is what Parent Power Real World Training is based on.

I have done a 10-year practical course on mild autism, and studied the theories over that time . I have perspectives that only a parent like you can have. And as I said, I am here to offer you these new understandings and training techniques you won’t find anywhere else, for your use as a parent. You can also see more “About Me” on my site.

And number (3) what’s that accent? It’s Australian. G’day Mate! (which means “hello”)
Any time you feel like it, go have a squiz at the site, (Australian expression)!
When you are on the site, you can do things like this:
There’s the Mild Autism site, and a range of Autistic behaviours is described.
you can click on any one you like to get more detail on why that behaviour is happening, and how that behaviour is linked to Withdrawal, for future remedy.

Now, how would you like to understand what it’s like to be in a more autistic world?
If you would like to experience mild autism better yourself, can click on this section, and doing this will give you a better feeling for what your Child is actually experiencing.
Because if you can’t understand what your Child is going through, how can you offer solutions?

The last thing is to answer your unspoken question “Can my loved one really improve that much?” Rather than take my word for it, this guy here Tony Attwood, in his “Complete Guide to Asperger’s Syndrome”, (a title I have always thought a little pretentious..!) On the fourth-last page he says “it is possible for some people to become “late socialisers”.
He has seen hundreds of Aspergers or mild-autistics in his career, so I think it’s fair for you to believe him, that it is possible.

My aim through this Training is to help more young people become socialisers, more quickly.
See you at the Site!
