(a) Introduction

This first Module includes my Welcome to you, and my offer to personally assist you:
– via correspondence, video, whatever you wish!
I will put my personal time into your Behavioral Therapy needs.
This offer will last for as long as I am not too snowed-under, but for now it holds.
So, Start Now!

(b) The autism Roadmap in Chart form

It can be confusing trying to understand where all the pieces fit in,
what to do first, then second, then third!
This Chart or Roadmap sets it all out for you, giving you a refreshing overview of the whole autism picture at a glance.

(c) The autism Roadmap – accompanying Text

The accompanying Text to the Roadmap gives you
written details about each of the steps shown on the previous Module.
It is recommended to have both Roadmap and Text open together for best comprehension.

Module I: Instant tips to to reduce your Child’s stress

There are quick ways to calm and redirect your Child. Although the recommendations may not be as long-term as the other Training Modules, this Module will give you many “First Aid” stress-remedies that we all desperately need sometimes.
While you will find a range of ‘quick-relief’ strategies here, you will also come to better understand the sources of tension that affect your Child, leading on to more lasting remedies that you can implement to greatly assist him or her, and lead to greater family harmony as well.

Module 2: Your 5 most important questions Answered

In most peoples’ cases the 5 most important questions are:
Where do I find the best
(1) Socialising and Behavioral Training
(2) Medical assistance
(3) Dietary advice
(4) Physical and Speech assistance
(5) Psychological adjustments
for my Child? We answer these questions in this Module.

Module 3: Preparing for the Fun-Sharing Games

You may have already gathered that the main motivator for encouraging our Young People to enter the Real World is by having FUN !
Here is where we learn how to “specially structure” the Games in ways that will appeal to your Youngster, considering his.her way of processing the World.
There are a set of Preliminary Steps to learn, to ensure your Loved One will be receptive to your approaches, and eager to Start playing Games.

Module 4: The Fun-Sharing, Game-Playing Module

“Here”, as we say in the Module, “is where we really start Making a Difference, as we introduce our Boys and Girls to the Real World”!
And in ways that make him or her want more!
This Module also reveals the special Technique that almost all Therapies neglect to include, but is a fundamental one for getting your boy or girl interested in You and the World, and making the effort needed in order to join in.
(Note that I have observed the best Therapists use this Technique when interacting with your Child, but they either don’t tell you about it, or are not really personally aware they are doing it! Once you know what to look for, however,
you will see it being used a lot! All over the place in fact !)

Module 5: Relaxation and Body-Awareness

A quote from the Module:
“Our Loved Ones are hyper-excited by life around them, and distract themselves from confusion and overstimulation by making their bodies over-active: resulting in tension.
– the answer to Relaxing is again to make a Game of it all.”
– So this Module makes your Child’s attention and co-operation easier for him or her, by turning Relaxation into Fun once more.
With that ability to pay attention more easily, so much more can be understood by your Child, who is also easier to teach.
Many of the Tips and Techniques described here for Relaxing you will probably find rather useful for yourself too!

Module 6: Nineteen Hot Tips to make your lives more FUN!

This Module was particularly built-up from our own experiences over the years! Things like the Reward Pole, Classroom Relief, Plan-Ahead, Response-Gaining, Tolerance-training techniques, are all clearly described, and you will find them easy to implement.
This Module on its own is worth the Training’s cost.

Module 7: Eight Attitudes to help you cope / flourish

The Gems in this Module, again, were gained through lots of parental experience, and learning about them early will significantly reduce your total-amount of pain over the years.
The Attitudes that you decide to take on, probably most, if not all of those presented here, will become like instinct in you over time – you will hardly have to think of them when doing them. But what a huge difference they will make for your Child, as you will be supporting, understanding and encouraging him.her all at the right times, virtually on automatic pilot…

Module 8: What happens Next? Further into the Future

This Module recaps what you have learned. It then offers you a look into Parent-Power™ Full “Real-World” Training, beginning when your Child is old enough to understand concepts like “Feelings-Matches” (rapport), deliberately deciding to be “Open” to the Real World, and capable of understanding the “Four-way Motivator”.
Speaking of motivation, the Full Training begins at a time when your Child is becoming more aware of Differences, and is more motivated to Change. This is a crucial time.

Module 9: Background theory supporting RWT

(“Real-World” Training)

Parent-Power ™ “Real-World” Training is based on solid research and understanding of the neuro-science behind human behaviour in general, and behind mild-autism in particular.
This Module sets out the principles that Real World Training operates under.
So upon reading it you can be more informed and confident that the Training you are engaged in is based on sound principles, and is scientifically-based. And that is why you can also expect dramatic outcomes from participating in it.

Module 10: Conversation-Training techniques

You can teach your Child all the most successful techniques that the best Speech Therapists use, by reading this Module. It is based on 5 years of observing many successful Therapists, and some less-successful ones. You will read all about what the good ones do right, and what the others do wrong!
Very valuable for your home-Training – as is said in the Module, you will extend the amount of peak-quality Training your Child will get, not just from Therapists, but now from you too!

Supplement: My opinions on issues like inoculations, allergies, etc.

Much of the heat in autism debates comes from medical questions:
what role do allergies, inoculations and bodily dysfunctions play in autism, and how much faith should we place in traditional and alternative medicines? The debate will not be settled in this supplemental section, the section merely sets out my opinions and our experience, which may be of interest and use to you.
You will be able to access this Module via links from other Modules.

Eye-Contact: My comments, and recommendations

Gaining REAL eye-contact with your Loved One is much to be desired!
There are ways to do this effectively, but also there are ways to be avoided
at all costs, otherwise there may be a negative effect.
More important details are to be found in the text.

Visual Supports: Picture-boards etc to help Structure our Child’s life

Especially when your Child is young, the world is a confusing place. So we provide much-needed Structure through Picture-Boards and Schedules, so he or she knows better what is going to happen next! Which reduces his.her anxiety.

I do believe however that we gradually need to reduce these Supports over time, to increase our Youngster’s self-reliance. (In the longer term he or she needs to be trained to make sense of things by the process of reaching-out to the Real World, and Real World Training is precisely where we teach our Children how to “reach-out” ! )

Discipline:: My opinions on what kind is useful and when to apply it.

To become an effective participant in society, self-discipline needs to be understood. It begins from understanding what limits of behaviour are acceptable when interacting with others, and if we don’t teach this we are doing our Child an injustice. However there are some kinds of “traditional” discipline that have the opposite effect when applied to our Children, so it is important to understand the special types and methods of discipline that will suit our kids.

The details are provided in the text.
